Four Ways To Save Money On Your Trade Show Setup

If you own a small business, attending trade shows is a great way to get your name out there and generate some sales. However, the initial investment into all the gear you'll need for a trade show setup can be inhibiting. You don't want to spend a fortune and only earn back half a fortune! Here are some ways to save money on your trade show setup so you're not left in debt.

1. Rent the furnishings.

Buying tables, chairs, and curtains for your booth can really add up. Thankfully, there are companies out there that rent these items. You may be able to rent an entire setup by the day. Or, you can seek out a table and chair rental company and a separate linen rental company for the curtains. If you are having trouble finding rental options in your area, get in touch with the officials at the trade show you are thinking of entering. They can generally tell you where the other exhibitors rent their booth items.

2. Don't bring everything.

The more items you bring to sell, the larger the booth you will need. A larger booth not only means you need to rent more furnishings, but some trade shows charge more for larger spaces, too. Consider bringing only your best-selling or most interesting product. For instance, if you make 50 varieties of soap, just bring your top-selling 10. You'll save space on the display, and you can still pass out brochures or cards for patrons interested in your other products.

3. Keep it simple.

You can go hog wild with posters, banners, stickers, and giveaways. Or, you can stick to just the basics. One simple banner over the front of your booth is enough to tell attendees who you are. Once they're drawn in by the banner, let your product to the advertising for you. Be warm and welcoming towards patrons, and they won't mind that you don't have free pens to give them.

4. Man the booth yourself.

You may be tempted to pay an employee to man the booth for the day, but you'll save money by doing this yourself. Plus, attendees at trade shows like the meet the owners of the businesses, so you may actually earn more money if you are present yourself.

If you follow the tips above, attending a trade show does not have to cost you an arm and a leg. Talk to a company like Presentation Media for more information.
